The CLR Process is a modified form of the extended aeration, complete mix process, with the design based on a single sludge system in a closed loop reactor.
Capable of removal efficiency equalling tertiary treatment plants
Simultaneously nitrifies and denitrifies without modifications
Handles hydraulic and shock loadings
Turndown flexibility reduces power requirements and energy costs

Typical designs use oval configurations, providing a straight line flow pattern for wastewater between headworks and final clarification. At the core of the CLR is the horizontal, bladed Magna Rotor to sustain high concentrations of microorganisms and maintain process control. Another component of the CLR is the Spiraflo Clarifier, which uses peripheral-feed flow technology proven to be superior for effective solids separation.
To provide flexibility, Lakeside’s CLR is available as parallel, series and peak flow hydraulic capacity operation. With the addition of submersible mixers or pumps, Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) is possible – in single-stage, MLE and alternating cycle designs.
