These 2" siphons have an 8" diameter bell and are made of 3/16" thick linear high density polyethylene with 3/4" Sch 40 PVC vent pipes and stainless steel bolts. The outlet is 2" NPT male thread. Average discharge rate varies from 30 - 33 USGPM (114 - 125 lpm).
As many engineering studies and extensive field tests indicate, continuous discharge from the septic tank should be avoided. Continuous discharge causes the distribution to be limited to a few areas within the absorption field resulting in an overloading of the infiltrative surface in these areas. In order to maintain the infiltrative capacity of the soil, alternate periods of loading and resting of the leaching system should be provided. An inexpensive and trouble-free method of achieving this solution is by using a dosing tank together with an automatic dosing siphon.
If electrical power is available at the site, this alternating solid state relay system can be used to sequence 3 or 4 siphons. The relays control a small solenoid air valve attached to each siphon. Opening the solenoid air valve on a siphon will start that particular siphon. Relay controlled siphon systems may be powered by solar recharged batteries.
4" PVC gasketed "T" fitting for 3" and 4" siphons.
Optional 4" NPT thread on outlet with PVC coupling (-TO), for dosing siphons.
