The IP100/200 series are adjustable depth insertion paddlewheels that come in brass, PVC, or 316 stainless models to fit 3″ to 64″ pipe. Ruby bearings and a non-drag Hall-effect sensor give these meters the widest flow range of any of the paddlewheel types. A sensor detects the passage of miniature magnets in the rotor blades. The resulting square-wave signal can be sent for hundreds of feet over unshielded cable without a transmitter and connected directly to many PLCs and other controls without any additional electronics.
These meters have the sensor mounted on a rod that slides in and out of an adapter that mounts on the pipe (with a standard 1½″ metal or 2″ PVC NPT threaded fitting such as a saddle or weldolet which may be purchased either locally or from us). Thus, it is adjustable to a range of pipe sizes. They come in 2 different size ranges, indicated by the first characters of the model number:
IP11 for 3″-12″ pipe
IP21 for 12″-40″ pipe (up to 64″ optionally)
The next digit of the model number indicates what (if any) electronic module is mounted on the unit:
IPxx0: Sensor only, with current-sinking pulse output for wiring to external device, e.g., wall- or panel-mounted electronic module
The following character indicates what material the sensor body, shaft and adapter fitting are made from:
IPxxxB: Brass
IPxxxP: PVC
IPxxxS: 316 Stainless Steel
Other options available:
Ceramic Rotor Shaft ("-01"): The standard rotor shaft is made of nickel-bonded tungsten carbide, a very hard material with good chemical resistance. For certain fluids, such as strong acids, the zirconia ceramic shaft may be a better choice.
Silicon Carbide Rotor Shaft ("-68"): Substitute the standard tungsten carbide rotor shaft with a silicon carbide rotor shaft.
Adapter Fitting ("-02" or "-35"): Instead of the standard 1½″ adapter fitting (for brass or SS units), a 2″ or an old style 2-piece fitting can be supplied instead.
Micropower Pickup ("-04"): You can specify a lower power pickup (for an external battery-powered FT450).
Connector Type ("-06", "-07" or "-106"): If you are connecting it directly to an LMI metering pump, you can specify either the 4-pin or 5-pin connector. Also, you can specify a Seametrics connector (for an external PD10).
Immersible Option ("-40"): This provides protection for the sensor in case the installation location is submerged. Immersible to maximum of 3 ft (1m), up to 2 weeks.
Insertion Extension ("-72"): The standard IP2xx meters can fit 12″-40″ pipe. With this option, they will fit 36″-64″ pipes.
